How To Achieve Your Goals With Child-Like Behavior

Filed Under (motivation) by Roy Sutanto on 28-03-2008

Remember when you were a child, you got your first bicycle? How excited you were to climb on it and ride it as far as you could go, pedaling as hard as you possibly could, and showing all of your friends and schoolmates the great transportation of your life! It didn’t matter that you didn’t know how to ride it immediately or that you did not own proper safety equipment. Your entire goal was to get on top of that bike and race the wind down the street. Sometimes, having just the burning desire is enough to motivate you to seek out the know-how and to practice riding until you are able do it all by yourself.

That burning desire, or passion, is an overwhelming emotion. It is that boundless enthusiasm we need to help us finish a task, begin a new project, conquer a fear, or to overcome a bad habit or addiction. It is the siren, or bugle, which leads us into battle.

If we can gather and preserve that childlike passion, we can accomplish anything. We can jump on that bike and start pedaling, and as we build the confidence and momentum, we can remove the training wheels and tackle the art of riding a bicycle. And by the turn of the next bend, we are riding that bike downhill towards the horizon with the wind behind us - without apprehension, concerns, or hindrances.

Although passion is a great motivator, it is often difficult to find and even harder to maintain. A good way of cultivating passion and retaining it in our sights is to seek out inspirational words and images. One powerful solution comes from free wallpapers with inspirational quotes. These vivid pictures with phenomenal, moving quotes can be the exact recharge we need for reviving passion and keeping it onboard. Furthermore, free inspirational desktop backgrounds can be a part of any workspace. Not only are these backgrounds pleasant to look at, but these free wallpapers with inspirational quotes are also excellent to share with family, friends, and team members.

We can all learn to jolt our heart’s desires back to life. Just like that child on the bicycle revving to go, we can allow a supercharged passion to ignite us into action and launch us towards our target. And by implementing a little inspiration to our daily routine, to keep our passions fed, we can reach our scope and beyond.

Getting in touch with our inner child doesn’t mean that we haven’t grown as individuals. As adults, we sometimes forget the simplicity of life, and we lose focus on occasion. We usually ponder about how we can get things done and stop at that. Passion can get us back on that bicycle seat and remind us of what we are striving for and why. It is the fuse to our powder keg of abilities, ideas, hopes, and dreams, and we should employ our passion to ask the necessary questions for us.

The next time we are confronted with a challenge, we should think back to our first days on a bicycle and hone in on that child-like fervor. We should all lean our heads back into the wind with our arms stretched out beside us and enjoy the ride. How we get there will become less important.

Motivational Story - Amazing Effects of Positive Thinking

Filed Under (motivation) by Roy Sutanto on 26-03-2008

One day, there was a kingdom that was ruled by an emperor. He was assisted by the prime minister to help him managing the kingdom. The prime minister was also an adviser and a close friend of the emperor because the emperor always asked for his advice or opinion about something, and he always accompanied the emperor hunting in the forest. One of the emperor’s favorite hobbies was hunting rabbits. The prime minister had a unique characteristic. He was so positive in every situation that happened to them. Whenever he was asked by his emperor about his opinion, his answer was only one - ‘it’s good.’

When it’s raining and the emperor asked for the prime minister’s opinion about that, he answered, “it is good, my emperor. We will not feel hot, we are protected from the dryness and the plants will fertilely grow.”

When it’s hot, no rain fell down and the emperor asked him, he answered, “it’s good, my emperor. If it is not raining, emperor can go to the forest for hunting some rabbits.”

Whenever the prime minister was asked by the emperor, his answer was always good, good, good, good and good. Sometimes the emperor was a little disappointed with the prime minister’s answer. The prime minister believed that everything was good and there were always positive sides behind something that was happening.

One day, the emperor accidentally cut his finger that made him lost his little finger. And as usual, the prime minister said, “it’s good.” And the emperor was in great anger and hatred. The prime minister was sent to the prison because he said it was good even if the emperor had lost his little finger. The emperor felt that his prime minister had been impolite and insulted him.

One day, he wanted to go hunting. Because the prime minister was in the prison, he decided to go alone into the forest to hunt some rabbits. He was out of luck because he had not yet found the rabbit. But he did not give up and kept walking and searching. When the day reached dusk, the emperor could not find the way home because he had walked too far. He lost in the forest. He shouted loudly if there was someone hearing his voice. After a while, a group of men came toward the emperor. However, they looked strange, they brought spears, looked like primitive men. Then they raised their spears targeted to him and because the emperor could not fight with all of them alone, he surrendered when they caught, bound and subsequently brought him away. He was brought into village, a primitive village where they lived in. they gathered sticks and put them around the emperor. The emperor knew that he would be burned down by fire. He was sorrowful because he realized he would die that way. Suddenly, one of the primitive paid attention to his hand and realized that one of his fingers had been lost. The primitive man began to shout in loud voice and told others. The others were scared about that. The primitive man said that someone who had incomplete hand fingers was a demon and that would curse them bad. After a long conversation, they eventually set him free and let him away from their village.

The emperor ran at his highest speed to get out of the fearful village. Fortunately he could find the way to his palace and was finally safe. With the exhaustion striking him, he went to the prison and told the guard to free the prime minister. He was so sorry and apologized to the prime minister. The emperor then told him what he had experienced a few moments ago in the primitive village. He realized that if he did not lose his little finger, maybe he had been burned and dead. He knew it was good losing his little finger because he had been saved by his incomplete fingers.

When the prime minister was asked about his opinion when he was sent to the prison, he answered with his favorite words, “it’s very very good, my emperor. If I was not in the prison, I perhaps would go hunting with you and we both would be caught by the primitive men. Because I had complete finger, I would be burned down and died. I’m so lucky and my life is saved by the emperor sending me to the prison. Thanks a lot, my emperor.”

Message for readers:

Everyday, every hour, every minute and every second, something happens. Everything always change, no matter it is good or bad one. We believe that we have ever experienced either something good or bad in our own life. If what is coming to us is good, we will be glad and face this world confidently. We will have positive thinking when something good happens. And when something bad is coming to us, we will behave differently. We will have negative thinking, feeling, emotion or whatsoever and we will probably face this world worse. We know that we or everybody in this world must have had something bad striking us. Nobody has never experienced something bad in their life. However, we must know and realize that when we’re in bad feeling, emotion, mood, or thinking, it will not help us overcoming the problem and also the problem we are facing will not go away from us. We must think clearly that it is far better to have positive thinking than to have negative thinking when the problem is coming to us. By having positive thinking, we will face the world better, we will be happier, we will think clearly and wisely, and eventually we will find the way to solve that problem. When we are ruled by our negative thinking, we will be in more problems and everything is not going to be better. You now have choice for positive or negative thinking. You are fully responsible for your own life.

There is a law of universe that is called law of opposite. This law states that everything in this world always has two sides oppositely. So we can say that for every negative or bad thing, there will be positive or good thing, Bad-good, sad-happy, poor-wealthy, failure-success, positive-negative, etc. Nobody can break this law. This law works for everything and everyone in this universe. All we can do is doing the best we can in response to what happens to us. Remember, what happens to us will not make differences, but our attitude in response to what happens to us will make huge change to our life. We give the meaning of what is happening to us. We can respond it in positive or negative way. Once again, it depends on you to decide what your attitude is to something that is happening to you. Everything has no meaning until you give it the meaning either good or bad. It’s better to delete all of negative things from your mind. Always be positive and you will see the changes in your life and realize that it will make your life easier.

Our Decisions Determine Our Destiny

Filed Under (motivation) by Roy Sutanto on 26-03-2008

It’s not what we do once in a while that counts, but our consistent actions. And what is the father of all action? What ultimately determines who we become and where we go in life? The answer is our decisions. It’s in this moment that our destiny is shaped. More than anything else, I believe our decisions - not the conditions of our lives - determine our destiny.

The Incredible Power of Willingness

Filed Under (motivation) by Roy Sutanto on 13-03-2008

This interesting article addresses some of the key issues regarding daily motivation. A careful reading of this material could make a big difference in how you think about daily motivation.

The story I’m about to tell you is based on the true story. I hope you can learn anything from the man on the following story.

There was a man who was a resident in New York City and also a web designer. One day he took a subway in Brooklyn District to go somewhere. And when the train was on the way, he saw a girl, a drop-dead gorgeous girl not far from him. And he fell in love at the first sight with her. He had never had his feeling that way before. She was so pretty to him. And he wanted to meet and asked for her name soon after the train arrived at the station.

And when the train arrive at the station, he was about to go to the girl and meet her. Unfortunately, however, there were too many passengers that cause his sight was hindered by the passengers walking down the subway. Finally, he lost the girl and after searching for her everywhere, he still couldn’t find her.

Day after day passed by, and he was more deeply fell in love with the girl he met at the subway days before and his feeling of love was stronger than before until one day he decided to find the way or do whatever to find the girl.

He finally committed to find the girl. His willingness to meet her was unstoppable. He then began to make a website. In the website, he wrote all about her physical appearance and also wrote a message to let him knew if someone had met her before or knew her or knew the information about her.

In just hours after publishing the website, many responses came to him. There were some people sympathizing him, some people gave courage and support, some people gave advice or ways to help him finding the girl, and some girls even offered their love to him.

And his hard effort was successful. There was a girl who confessed that she knew the girl he searched for. And the good news was that the man could finally find and meet the girl he was in deep love with. The end of the story was unknown. The man didn’t want to tell more.

Message for readers:

It doesn’t matter that the continuation of the story is unknown. But we can learn from the man’s commitment on the story above. You probably wonder how he can find the girl. There are about 11 millions residents in New York City. How can he find the girl in a very large city like New York is? You perhaps think that it’s impossible to find her out. But this is the true power of willingness. Impossibility turns into possibility by the power of willingness and commitment.

How strong your willingness is? Do you have strong will to achieve success in your life? Many people want to achieve success, to be richer, healthier, luxurious housing and car, higher promotion in work etc. If you ask them whether they want better and more successful life, they’ll absolutely say yes. But we probably wonder why still so many people do not get what every other people want. There are only minority of people who live in success. This depends on the will that everyone has. They want everything in this life. But they just want it. They do not have strong will to achieve them. It doesn’t matter whether you can achieve it or not, but all that matter is that you has the will to achieve it or not. You can’t get what you want if you simply do not have the will to achieve that because you think that it isn’t a must. If you feel that it doesn’t matter if you finally achieve it or not, you will act differently with when you act using strong will and you will not use your maximum potency and can you guess what results you will get? You’ll get the results you’ll never expect to have.

There’s nothing can stop you to achieve whatever you want to be, to do and to have if you really have the strong willingness to do whatever it takes to achieve them as the Chinese proverb says, “If you have the will, you can move the mountain.”

If you have the will, you can do everything that seems to be impossible for everyone to do. Your will is like the fuel to boost your action toward success. Nothing is impossible when you really have the will. How strong your willingness is will determine how big you’ll achieve. Simply take a look at the story above. Everything seems to be impossible, but the man can finally prove that he can. That’s the power of will. Nothing can stop you and you will slide fast like a train.

You can’t just want success. It’s not enough. If you really want to achieve success, you must have strong will to achieve that. Your willingness will make you having commitment. By having commitment, you’ll do everything to accomplish even when everything seems to be hard and impossible. You will also find the way to achieve your success. The way will be given to you only if you have the will to look for it.

As the addition, the power of willingness will drive and keep you in track of your success. You are you today because of your will, you achieve success because of your will, and you can be, do and have what you truly want because of your will. If you have strong willingness, everything in this world is very possible for you. To get success, you need to use your will power upon yourself.

Remember this proverb: “WHERE THERE IS A WILL, THERE IS A WAY.”

The day will come when you can use something you read about here to have a beneficial impact. Then you’ll be glad you took the time to learn more about daily motivation. Now might be a good time to write down the main points covered above. The act of putting it down on paper will help you remember what’s important

Your Success Depends On Your Motivation

Filed Under (motivation) by Roy Sutanto on 12-03-2008

No matter where life takes us, we all need to be positively motivated in order to succeed. This is particularly true when things are not quite going our way and when we have undertaken business projects that do not seem to work out as we would have expected. It is at this point that fear can move stealthily into our way of thinking and a little irritating voice says that this is not going to work.

So, what can be done? Well, for the most part, it is important that you steer clear of negative people. These people can, at times, be your own flesh and blood. However, this is not the time to disclose any doubts and fears that you may have in them. Positive and enthusiastic people should be sought out from your acquaintances, family and friends. Assume the positive and confident outlooks on life that they have. Locate a good motivational book. Return and re-tackle the issues that are holding your scheme back, whilst you are thinking about success. It is very often a case of needing to tweak certain aspects of the operation in order to get it moving.

If research has been undertaken by yourself correctly, then there must be a reason as to why things are not going so well. Determination will pay in the long run. If you are yearning to succeed, this will without a doubt provide the inspiration and energy that is required to get you off on the right foot and where you need to go. This is personal motivation in action. Positive results will be achieved when your energy and desire work together.

When things are not going your way, it is easy for you to become down and depressed. It is simple to just give up and give in to fear and misery. However, it is this approach that leads you to less success. Depression and loss of motivation can be increased when communicating with unenthusiastic people. In a sense, we are in actual fact what we deem ourselves to be, and we need to motivate ourselves in order to achieve.

In one way, it is more difficult to remain positive since is requires a great deal of energy. However, on the other hand, being negative takes your energy away, whilst being positive will produce energy. Motivation is produced when we remain positive, and results are produced from enthusiastic motivation. Nothing is a lost cause. It is just necessary to undertake thoughtful restructuring in the worst cases, or minor tweaking at best. All that is required to carry this out is the motivation and enthusiasm.

Life can be difficult. However it is imperative that you search for the positives in everything, including situations that prove to be difficult. It is important that you enjoy life and mix with positive, energetic people. It is simple for their enthusiasm and motivation to break through the shell of depression that is blocking up your life. Goals need to be developed, followed by you gaining the amount of motivation needed to drive in your life.

Turning Unmotivated Feelings Into Motivated Ones

Filed Under (motivation) by Roy Sutanto on 11-03-2008

Feeling unmotivated?

You can’t hit the target if you don’t aim first, and that will make you procrastinate because you don’t know where to expend your energies. If you have something you want to achieve, the clearer you are about what you want to achieve the more chance you have of achieving it. If your target is vague and/or impractical, it is so much more difficult to achieve anything - in two ways:

If you don’t know what your target is, how will you know when you’ve achieved it?

A vague target means you can’t effectively plan to achieve it.

Your dreams and ambitions won’t just land in your lap neatly gift-wrapped for your enjoyment without you having to do a thing. That very rarely happens. You are the one that has to fulfill your own ambitions. You’re the one that has to stop procrastinating and go out and do what needs to be done to get you what you want in life. That’s why targets are important.

Setting targets is quite easy, but it takes some discipline and common sense. Do you have that?

Do you want that target badly enough? There will be some hard work along the way to hitting your ultimate target. You’ve got to make sure it’s really something you want and that you’re prepared to work hard for. Is it really *your* target - or something that someone else wants you to do? If you don’t buy into that target you’ll take no enjoyment in having achieved it and the journey will seem twice as long and three times as hard with all the excuses you’ll come up with not to knuckle down and get things done.

Really think hard about what’s to be gained by achieving your target. Weigh up the potential gain against the price that is to be paid for all the hard work that achieving your target will take. That price could be in time, energy, relationships or money. Your loved ones as well as you could be the ones paying the price.

Is it worth it?

If it is, you’re ready to set your targets.

Put your targets down on paper. That will make your targets seem more real to you. As you write them, you’ll find yourself naturally thinking of ways to achieve your targets and you’ll help to keep procrastination at arm’s length, where it belongs.

Jot those ideas down! Keep all those ideas you have because later in the journey towards your target you may need Plan B, C…and Z! Those ideas will always be useful when you have to re-assess and change your strategy when things don’t go according to plan.

Have you buried your motivation? Not feeling motivated is a prime reason for procrastination. You need to get that motivation back. Sometime - a little persistence is all you need to feel motivated again.

Have you ever wondered why it is that some people seem to have all the luck? They appear to get whatever they want. Rewards just flood to them. You see it and you want to be just like that. Well, you can, but you need to get over your procrastination and develop persistence. Persistence is what keeps you achieving and achieving keeps you motivated. It’s not difficult, but to begin with you will need to work at it a little.

Motivation starts with an idea, a hope. It stems from something you really wanted to achieve. That carries you along for a while, while it’s all new and fresh and exciting. But motivation gets knocked and is hard to maintain when things don’t seem to be going well or you come up against obstacles.

That’s where persistence becomes best friend to your motivation.

Persistence is the ability to carry on towards your goals even when things go wrong or take longer than you wanted them to. With persistence, you keep going and striving for what you want even when you feel like giving up. You stop procrastinating.

When you work on any big goal, your motivation will have good days and bad days. It will be affected by your mood, the people around you, how well things are going towards your aim etc. Sometimes you’ll feel motivated; sometimes you won’t. But it’s not your motivation that will produce results - it’s your actions.

Making the effort and achieving even one small thing towards your aim e.g. reading that first chapter of research - will have you feeling positive about yourself. You’ll know that you can achieve your aim now, because you just proved it to yourself - on a bad day, you can still take a positive action towards achieving your goal.

Ok - so how does persistence improve your motivation?

Persistence isn’t magic; it’s simply that thing that allows you to keep taking action even when you don’t feel motivated to do so. With persistence you stop procrastinating and keep getting at least small things done; they all add up - and therefore you keep on achieving results. All you need is one small step forward, one little positive result and your motivation will return again because you will be believe once more that you *can* be successful.

For example, you may become a lot more enthusiastic about completing an e-book once you’ve got that first page written. Doing that first page of reading for your research was a great step along the way to achieving your aim.

So that’s why persistence may be all the motivation you need. Force yourself to make one step in the right direction towards achieving what you want to achieve and you will see some benefits. Your goals will suddenly look a whole lot more achievable. You’ll remember why you wanted to achieve that goal in the first place and you’ll see that it’s worth a bit of hard work to get it. Soon you’ll have stopped procrastinating and will actually have achieved something you know will help make your ambition a reality. Therefore persistence will ultimately provide its own motivation. If you simply keep taking action, you’ll eventually get results, and results can be a great way to rid yourself of procrastination on a project.

Dreams Of Desitiny

Filed Under (motivation) by Roy Sutanto on 10-03-2008

“Nothing happens unless first a dream” - Carl Sandburg

We all have dreams…. We all want to believe deep down in our souls that we have a special gift, that we can make a difference, that we can touch others in a special way, and that we can make the world a better place.

What’ one of your aspirations? Maybe it’s dream you’ve forgotten or have begun to relinquish. If that vision were alive today, what would you life be like?

Take a moment now just to dream and to think about what you really want for your life.
